ZNF467

Description

The ZNF467 (zinc finger protein 467) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

ZNF467 acts as a transcription factor that promotes adipocyte differentiation within bone marrow while simultaneously suppressing osteoblast differentiation. It also enhances the capacity of stromal cells to support osteoclasts. ZNF467 interacts with STAT3 and binds to the acute phase response element (APRE) sequence 5‘-CTTCTGGGAAGA-3‘. This interaction leads to the transactivation of multiple promoters, including FOS, OSM, and PPARG. Additionally, ZNF467 is believed to recruit a histone deacetylase complex.

ZNF467 is also known as EZI, Zfp467.
