ZNF462

Description

The ZNF462 (zinc finger protein 462) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

ZNF462 is a zinc finger nuclear factor that plays a role in transcription by regulating chromatin structure and organization. It is involved in the pluripotency and differentiation of embryonic stem cells by regulating the expression of key transcription factors such as SOX2, POU5F1/OCT4, and NANOG. ZNF462 interacts with PBX1, preventing the formation of the PBX1-HOXA9 heterodimer and its binding to DNA. This interaction is crucial for regulating neuronal development and neural cell differentiation.

ZNF462 is also known as WSKA, ZFPIP, Zfp462.
