ZNF41

Description

The ZNF41 (zinc finger protein 41) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

Zinc finger protein 41 is a protein encoded by the ZNF41 gene in humans. It is a potential transcription factor belonging to the zinc finger family. The protein possesses KRAB-A and KRAB-B domains, which act as transcriptional repressors in similar proteins. It also contains several zinc finger DNA binding motifs and connecting regions typical of the Kruppel family. This gene resides within a gene cluster on chromosome Xp11.23. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, but the full-length nature of only a few is known.

ZNF41 is also known as MRX89.
