ZNF16

Description

The ZNF16 (zinc finger protein 16) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

Zinc finger protein 16 is a protein encoded by the ZNF16 gene in humans. It contains a C2H2 type of zinc finger, suggesting a role as a transcription factor. The gene is located close to ZNF7/KOX4, another zinc finger protein-encoding gene, on chromosome 8. Two alternatively spliced variants have been identified, both encoding the same protein.

ZNF16 is also known as HZF1, KOX9.
