ZDHHC9

Description

The ZDHHC9 (zinc finger DHHC-type palmitoyltransferase 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

Palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC9 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ZDHHC9 gene that contains a DHHC domain.

ZDHHC9 is a palmitoyltransferase that adds palmitate to various proteins, including ADRB2, HRAS, NRAS, and CGAS. The ZDHHC9-GOLGA7 complex specifically palmitoylates HRAS and NRAS. ZDHHC9 may also palmitoylate the beta-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) and thus regulate G protein-coupled receptor signaling. ZDHHC9 is a regulator of innate immunity, as it palmitoylates CGAS, promoting CGAS homodimerization and cyclic GMP-AMP synthase activity.

ZDHHC9 is also known as CGI89, CXorf11, DHHC9, MMSA1, MRXSR, MRXSZ, ZDHHC10, ZNF379, ZNF380.
