ZC3H12D

Description

The ZC3H12D (zinc finger CCCH-type containing 12D) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

ZC3H12D may regulate cell growth by suppressing RB1 phosphorylation (PubMed:19531561). It may function as an RNase and regulate the levels of target RNA species. In association with ZC3H12A, it enhances the degradation of interleukin IL-6 mRNA level in activated macrophages (PubMed:26134560). ZC3H12D acts as a tumor suppressor in certain leukemia cells (PubMed:17210687). Overexpression of ZC3H12D inhibits the G1 to S phase progression through suppression of RB1 phosphorylation (PubMed:19531561).

ZC3H12D is also known as C6orf95, MCPIP4, TFL, dJ281H8.1, p34.
