YEATS2

Description

The YEATS2 (YEATS domain containing 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

YEATS2 is a component of the ATAC complex, which has histone acetyltransferase activity on histones H3 and H4. YEATS2 specifically recognizes and binds to histone H3 crotonylated at lysine 27 (H3K27cr). This binding is important for marking active promoters and enhancers, and for conferring resistance to transcriptional repressors.

YEATS2 is also known as FAME4.
