WNT11

Description

The WNT11 (Wnt family member 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Wnt-11 is a protein encoded by the WNT11 gene in humans. It belongs to the WNT gene family, which encodes secreted signaling proteins involved in cancer and various developmental processes, including cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. Wnt-11 shares significant amino acid similarity with its counterparts in mice, chickens, and Xenopus. This gene plays crucial roles in the development of bones, kidneys, and lungs. It is also associated with early-onset osteoporosis.

WNT11 is also known as HWNT11.
