WASF2

Description

The WASF2 (WASP family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

WASF2, encoded by the WASF2 gene, is a member of the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family. It forms a multiprotein complex that links receptor kinases and actin, contributing to changes in cell shape, motility, and function. The complex binds actin through a C-terminal verprolin homology domain. While previously mapped to chromosome X, it's now confirmed to be located on chromosome 1, with a pseudogene on chromosome X.

WASF2 is also known as IMD2, SCAR2, WASF4, WAVE2, dJ393P12.2.
