VSTM2A
Description
The VSTM2A (V-set and transmembrane domain containing 2A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.
VSTM2A plays a crucial role in the early stages of both white and brown preadipocyte cell differentiation. It actively promotes the commitment of these cells to become adipocytes by increasing the expression of the transcription factor PPARG. This process is mediated by the BMP4 signaling pathway.
VSTM2A is also known as VSTM2.
