USP50

Description

The USP50 (ubiquitin specific peptidase 50) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

USP50 is a deubiquitinating enzyme that removes ubiquitin from proteins, impacting various cellular functions. It plays a role in regulating the inflammasome signaling pathway by removing ubiquitin from the PYCARD/ASC adapter protein. It also regulates the ubiquitination and stability of the ACE2 protein. Furthermore, USP50 acts as a negative regulator of the G2/M checkpoint pathway by preventing the degradation of WEE1, a serine/threonine kinase. This action ultimately inhibits entry into mitosis when the G2/M DNA damage checkpoint is activated.

USP50 is also known as -.
