USP43

Description

The USP43 (ubiquitin specific peptidase 43) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

USP43, also known as Deubiquitinating enzyme 43, Ubiquitin thioesterase 43, and Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 43, plays a role in the regulation of protein degradation by ubiquitination. It specifically recognizes and breaks down the peptide bond at the C-terminal Glycine of ubiquitin. This process is essential for the processing of poly-ubiquitin chains, which are crucial for tagging proteins for degradation, as well as for the processing of ubiquitinated proteins.

USP43 is also known as -.
