USP34

Description

The USP34 (ubiquitin specific peptidase 34) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 34 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the USP34 gene.

USP34 is a deubiquitinase that removes ubiquitin from AXIN1 and AXIN2, regulating the Wnt signaling pathway. It acts as an activator of Wnt signaling by stabilizing AXIN1 and AXIN2, promoting their nuclear accumulation and enhancing beta-catenin-mediated transcription. USP34 recognizes and cleaves the peptide bond at the C-terminal Gly of ubiquitin, participating in the processing of poly-ubiquitin precursors and ubiquitinated proteins.

USP34 is also known as -.
