USP24

Description

The USP24 (ubiquitin specific peptidase 24) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

USP24, also known as ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 24, is an enzyme encoded by the USP24 gene in humans.

USP24 is a ubiquitin-specific protease that controls cell survival in various situations by regulating the stability of proteins such as DDB2, MCL1, and TP53. It positively impacts ferritinophagy, a process where ferritin is broken down in lysosomes, releasing free iron.
