UNKL

Description

The UNKL (unk like zinc finger) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

RING finger protein unkempt-like is a protein that in humans is encoded by the UNKL gene.

UNKL might be involved in a protein complex that exhibits E3 ligase activity, which is regulated by RAC1. UNKL is known to ubiquitinate itself and potentially other substrates, including SMARCD2/BAF60b. However, its intrinsic E3 ligase activity has not been definitively established.

UNKL is also known as C16orf28, ZC3H5L, ZC3HDC5L.
