UBAP2L

Description

The UBAP2L (ubiquitin associated protein 2 like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Ubiquitin-associated protein 2-like (UBAP2L) is a protein encoded by the UBAP2L gene in humans. It has been shown to interact with the protein BAT2.

UBAP2L plays a crucial role in the degradation of RNA polymerase II when the transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair (TC-NER) machinery fails to repair DNA damage. It facilitates the ubiquitination of RNA polymerase II, leading to its removal and degradation. Additionally, UBAP2L is essential for the activity of long-term repopulating hematopoietic stem cells (LT-HSCs) and promotes the formation of stress granules.

UBAP2L is also known as NEDLBF, NICE-4, NICE4.
