TXNDC11

Description

The TXNDC11 (thioredoxin domain containing 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

TXNDC11 plays a role in regulating redox reactions, potentially by aiding in the proper folding of DUOX proteins. Its association with DUOX1 and DUOX2 suggests that it is part of a larger protein complex responsible for generating hydrogen peroxide in the thyroid. However, TXNDC11 alone is not enough to facilitate the production of hydrogen peroxide by DUOX1 and DUOX2.

TXNDC11 is also known as EFP1.
