TUBB8

Description

The TUBB8 (tubulin beta 8 class VIII) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

TUBB8, also known as tubulin beta-8 chain, is a crucial component of microtubules, elongated, cylindrical structures essential for various cellular processes. Microtubules are formed from the assembly of alpha- and beta-tubulin heterodimers. TUBB8 plays a vital role in meiotic spindle assembly and oocyte maturation, processes critical for proper cell division and reproductive development.

TUBB8 is also known as OOMD, OOMD2, OZEMA2, bA631M21.2.
