TUBA3E
Description
The TUBA3E (tubulin alpha 3e) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.
TUBA3E, as part of the tubulin heterodimer, is essential for microtubule formation. Microtubules are dynamic structures that grow by the addition of GTP-bound tubulin dimers to their ends, forming a stabilizing cap. Once incorporated into the microtubule, the GTP is hydrolyzed to GDP, resulting in a GDP-bound state of tubulin within the microtubule.
