TSSC4

Description

The TSSC4 (tumor suppressing subtransferable candidate 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

TSSC4 is involved in the maturation and post-splicing recycling of the U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP). It plays a crucial role in the assembly of the spliceosomal tri-snRNP complex within the nucleus. TSSC4 exhibits molecular sequestering activity, temporarily blocking binding sites on SNRNP200 for constitutive splicing factors, which are needed later in the spliceosome assembly process. This sequestering activity, combined with its potential role as a molecular adapter and placeholder, helps coordinate the assembly of the U5 snRNP and its association with the U4/U6 di-snRNP.

TSSC4 is also known as -.
