TSPYL5

Description

The TSPYL5 (TSPY like 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

TSPYL5 is a protein encoded by the TSPYL5 gene in humans.

TSPYL5 plays a role in regulating cell growth and how cells respond to gamma radiation. It likely achieves this by influencing the Akt signaling pathway. TSPYL5 is also involved in controlling the activity of the p53 tumor suppressor protein. It decreases p53 levels and promotes its breakdown (ubiquitination). This activity depends on the USP7 protein but not MDM2. It's thought that TSPYL5 might remove p53 from its interaction with USP7.

TSPYL5 is also known as -.
