TSPAN9

Description

The TSPAN9 (tetraspanin 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

TSPAN9 is a gene that codes for a protein called tetraspanin 9. This protein is part of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Tetraspanin proteins are found on cell surfaces and have four hydrophobic domains. They are involved in signal transduction and play a role in regulating cell development, activation, growth, and movement. There are different versions of the TSPAN9 gene that code for the same protein.

TSPAN9 is also known as NET-5, NET5, PP1057.
