TSPAN10

Description

The TSPAN10 (tetraspanin 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

Tetraspanin 10 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TSPAN10 gene.

TSPAN10 belongs to the TspanC8 subgroup, which consists of six proteins that interact with the ADAM10 metalloprotease. This interaction is crucial for ADAM10's journey from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell surface, enabling its enzymatic maturation and determining its substrate specificity. Notably, different TspanC8/ADAM10 complexes have varying substrate preferences.

TSPAN10 is also known as OCSP.
