TSC22D4

Description

The TSC22D4 (TSC22 domain family member 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

TSC22D4 binds to DNA and acts as a transcriptional repressor. It regulates systemic glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity by repressing downstream insulin signaling targets like OBP2A/LCN13. It also negatively regulates lipogenic gene expression in hepatocytes, controlling very low-density lipoprotein release. TSC22D4 may be involved in neurite elongation and survival.

TSC22D4 is also known as SPACDR, THG-1, THG1, TILZ2.
