TRPC7
Description
The TRPC7 (transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily C member 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.
TRPC7, also known as Transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily C, member 7, is a human gene encoding a protein of the same name. TRPC7 is part of the TRPC gene family.
TRPC7 is thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. It is likely operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. TRPC7 is activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) and may also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion.
TRPC7 is also known as TRP7.
