TRHDE

Description

The TRHDE (thyrotropin releasing hormone degrading enzyme) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

The TRHDE gene encodes a protein called thyrotropin releasing hormone degrading enzyme, which is a pyroglutamyl-peptidase II enzyme. This enzyme belongs to the peptidase M1 family and is an extracellular peptidase. Its primary function is to cleave and inactivate thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), a neuropeptide.

TRHDE is also known as PAP-II, PGPEP2, TRH-DE.
