TRERF1

Description

The TRERF1 (transcriptional regulating factor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

TRERF1 is a protein encoded by the human TRERF1 gene. It is a zinc-finger transcriptional regulating protein that interacts with CBP/p300 to regulate the expression of CYP11A1. TRERF1 has been shown to interact with Steroidogenic factor 1, EP300 and CREB-binding protein.

TRERF1 binds to DNA and activates the transcription of the CYP11A1 gene. The interaction of TRERF1 with CREBBP and EP300 leads to a synergistic increase in CYP11A1 transcription.

TRERF1 is also known as BCAR2, HSA277276, RAPA, TREP132, TReP-132, dJ139D8.5.
