TPRXL

Description

The TPRXL (tetrapeptide repeat homeobox like (pseudogene)) is a pseudo gene located on chromosome 3.

This gene encodes a protein that is a subunit of the TRAPP complex, a multiprotein complex required for tethering ER-derived vesicles to the Golgi apparatus. The TRAPP complex is involved in the early stages of protein trafficking from the ER to the Golgi. This gene is specifically involved in the formation of a subcomplex of TRAPP, termed TRAPPII, which is required for the retrograde transport of COPI vesicles from the Golgi to the ER.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the TRAPP complex, a multiprotein complex required for tethering ER-derived vesicles to the Golgi apparatus. The TRAPP complex is involved in the early stages of protein trafficking from the ER to the Golgi, a process essential for proper protein sorting and secretion. This gene is specifically involved in the formation of a subcomplex of TRAPP, termed TRAPPII, which is required for the retrograde transport of COPI vesicles from the Golgi to the ER.

TPRXL is also known as TPRX3P.
