TOX4

Description

The TOX4 (TOX high mobility group box family member 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

TOX4 (TOX high mobility group box family member 4), also known as KIAA0737, is a human gene.

TOX4 is a transcription factor involved in cell fate reprogramming, guiding cells from a specialized state to pluripotent or neuronal states. It is a part of the PTW/PP1 phosphatase complex, which regulates chromatin structure and cell cycle progression, specifically during the transition from mitosis to interphase. In the liver, TOX4 controls the expression of gluconeogenic genes, G6PC1 and PCK1, in a manner independent of insulin receptor activation.

TOX4 is also known as C14orf92, KIAA0737, LCP1, MIG7.
