TNNI3

The TNNI3 gene builds cardiac troponin I, a protein essential for heart muscle contractions. TNNI3 helps regulate the interaction between muscle components, allowing the heart to beat. Mutations in TNNI3 are linked to familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition where the heart muscle abnormally thickens.
