TNIP3

Description

The TNIP3 (TNFAIP3 interacting protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

TNIP3 interacts with the zinc finger protein TNFAIP3 and suppresses NF-kappa-B activation triggered by various stimuli including tumor necrosis factor, Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), interleukin-1, and 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate. When overexpressed, TNIP3 inhibits NF-kappa-B-dependent gene expression in response to lipopolysaccharide. This inhibition occurs downstream of TRAF6 and upstream of IKBKB, and is independent of TNFAIP3 binding.

TNIP3 is also known as ABIN-3, LIND.
