TNFSF8

Description

The TNFSF8 (TNF superfamily member 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

CD153 (cluster of differentiation 153), also known as tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 8, is a protein encoded by the TNFSF8 gene in humans. CD153 is a cytokine ligand that interacts with the TNF receptor CD30. It plays a key role in the T-cell-dependent immune response against mycobacteria.

This cytokine binds to the TNFRSF8/CD30 receptor and promotes the growth and division of T-cells.

TNFSF8 is also known as CD153, CD30L, CD30LG, TNLG3A.
