TNC

Description

The TNC (tenascin C) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

TNC may refer to:

Tenascin-C (TNC) is an extracellular matrix protein involved in the guidance of migrating neurons and axons during development. It plays a role in synaptic plasticity and neuronal regeneration, promoting neurite outgrowth from cortical neurons. TNC interacts with several integrins, including alpha-8/beta-1, alpha-9/beta-1, alpha-V/beta-3 and alpha-V/beta-6. In tumor environments, TNC stimulates angiogenesis by promoting the elongation, migration and sprouting of endothelial cells.

TNC is also known as 150-225, DFNA56, GMEM, GP, HXB, JI, TN, TN-C.
