TMPRSS9

Description

The TMPRSS9 (transmembrane serine protease 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

TMPRSS9, also known as Serase-1 and Serase-2, exhibits serine protease activity. It specifically hydrolyzes peptides containing the sequences Gln-Ala-Arg and Gln-Gly-Arg, as exemplified by N-t-Boc-Gln-Ala-Arg-AMC and N-t-Boc-Gln-Gly-Arg-AMC. However, it does not significantly hydrolyze peptides with sequences like Ala-Phe-Lys or Ala-Pro-Ala, as demonstrated by N-t-Boc-Ala-Phe-Lys-AMC and N-t-Boc-Ala-Pro-Ala-AMC.

TMPRSS9 is also known as -.
