TMEM39A

Description

The TMEM39A (transmembrane protein 39A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

TMEM39A plays a role in autophagy by regulating the levels and distribution of the intracellular phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns(4)P) pools. It achieves this by controlling the trafficking of the phosphatidylinositide phosphatase SACM1L from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi apparatus.

TMEM39A is also known as SUSR2.
