TMEM158
Description
The TMEM158 (transmembrane protein 158) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.
Transmembrane protein 158 is a protein encoded by the TMEM158 gene in humans. When the Ras pathway is consistently activated, it triggers an irreversible stop in cell growth that resembles replicative senescence. The expression of this gene is increased when the Ras pathway is activated, but not under other conditions that cause senescence.
Receptor for brain injury-derived neurotrophic peptide (BINP), a synthetic 13-mer peptide.
TMEM158 is also known as BBP, RIS1, p40BBP.
