TMEM101

Description

The TMEM101 (transmembrane protein 101) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

TMEM101 is a human gene that encodes the transmembrane protein 101. This protein has been shown to activate the NF-κB signaling pathway. High levels of TMEM101 expression have been linked to breast cancer.

TMEM101 is also known as Putative NF-Kappa-B-Activating Protein 130, FLJ23987, and MGC4251. It is located on the long arm of human chromosome 17 at the locus 17q21.31, spanning from position 44,011,188 to 44,023,946. TMEM101 is situated between the NAGS and LSM12 genes.

There are five mRNA transcript variants for TMEM101, with variants 1, 2, and 3 confirmed experimentally and variants X1 and X2 predicted computationally. The last three exons of all five variants are identical.

TMEM101 is also known as -.
