TMCO6

Description

The TMCO6 (transmembrane and coiled-coil domains 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

TMCO6, also known as PRO1580, HQ1580 or FLJ39769.1, is a protein encoded by the TMCO6 gene in humans. The gene is located on chromosome 5 (position 5q31.3) and spans 5568 base pairs. It is alternately spliced into three known variants, with variant 1 being the longest. TMCO6 is expressed in liver tissue during the fetal stage of development. Orthologs of TMCO6 have been found in various organisms, including primates and fish, but not in invertebrates, fungi, plants, or bacteria.

TMCO6 is also known as PRO1580.
