TLCD1

Description

The TLCD1 (TLC domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

TLCD1, also known as Calfacilitin, plays a crucial role in regulating the composition and fluidity of the cell membrane. It specifically inhibits the incorporation of membrane-fluidizing phospholipids containing omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA), resulting in increased membrane rigidity. Notably, TLCD1 does not affect the synthesis of LCPUFA.

TLCD1 is also known as -.
