THAP3

Description

The THAP3 (THAP domain containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

THAP3 is a protein encoded by the THAP3 gene in humans. It contains the THAP domain and a host-cell factor 1C binding motif (HBM). These domains allow THAP3 to participate in various processes, including transcription and neuronal development. THAP3 is widely expressed in humans, with the highest expression levels found in the kidneys. The THAP3 gene is located on chromosome 1 at 1p36.31 and spans 10,727 base pairs. It consists of 6 exons. THAP3 expression is observed throughout various tissues, with elevated levels in the kidneys, ovaries, testes, prostate, adrenal gland, spleen, liver, and colon.

THAP3 forms a complex with THAP1, HCFC1, and OGT, which is essential for regulating the transcription of the RRM1 gene.
