TFPI2

Description

The TFPI2 (tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

Tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 is a protein encoded by the TFPI2 gene in humans.

TFPI2 plays a role in regulating the breakdown of the extracellular matrix through plasmin activity. It inhibits several enzymes, including trypsin, plasmin, factor VIIa/tissue factor, and weakly inhibits factor Xa. However, it does not affect thrombin.

TFPI2 is also known as PP5, REF1, TFPI-2.
