TEX10

Description

The TEX10 (testis expressed 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

TEX10 protein is encoded by the TEX10 gene in humans. It forms part of a complex with WDR18, LAS1L called the rixosome that participates in RNA degradation, ribosomal RNA (rRNA) processing and ribosome biogenesis.

TEX10 is a component of the Five Friends of Methylated CHTOP (5FMC) complex, which is recruited to ZNF148 by methylated CHTOP. This interaction leads to desumoylation of ZNF148 and subsequent transactivation of ZNF148 target genes. TEX10 is also a component of the PELP1 complex, which is involved in the nucleolar steps of 28S rRNA maturation and the subsequent nucleoplasmic transit of the pre-60S ribosomal subunit.

TEX10 is also known as Ipi1, bA208F1.2.
