Tegafur


Description

Tegafur is an oral anticancer medication that is used to treat a variety of cancers. It is a prodrug, which means that it is converted to an active drug in the body. Tegafur is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), a chemotherapy drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Tegafur is often used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs. It is also used to treat some types of colorectal cancer and stomach cancer.
