TEAD3

Description

The TEAD3 (TEA domain transcription factor 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

TEAD3 is a transcription factor that belongs to the TEA domain family, which are characterized by a DNA-binding domain called TEA/ATTS. TEAD3 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, where it plays a role in the activation of the chorionic somatomammotropin-B gene enhancer. This gene product is also found in the nervous system and muscle of fish embryos. TEAD3 is translationally initiated at a non-AUG (AUA) start codon, which is unusual in human proteins.

TEAD3 is also known as DTEF-1, ETFR-1, TEAD-3, TEAD5, TEF-5, TEF5.
