Description

The TCN1 (transcobalamin 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

TCN1 binds vitamin B12 with exceptionally high affinity (femtomolar), effectively shielding it from the harsh acidic conditions present in the stomach.

TCN1 is also known as HC, TC-1, TC1, TCI.
