TCEAL7

Description

The TCEAL7 (transcription elongation factor A like 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

TCEAL7 negatively regulates NF-kappa-B signaling by modulating its transcriptional activity on target gene promoters. It also associates with the cyclin D1 promoter containing Myc E-box sequence, repressing cyclin D1 expression. Furthermore, TCEAL7 regulates telomerase reverse transcriptase expression and telomerase activity in both ALT (alternative lengthening of telomeres) and telomerase-positive cell lines.

TCEAL7 is also known as WEX5.
