TBL1Y

Description

The TBL1Y (transducin beta like 1 Y-linked) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome Y.

TBL1Y, an F-box-like protein, plays a critical role in regulating gene transcription by nuclear receptors. It facilitates the recruitment of the ubiquitin/19S proteasome complex to nuclear receptor-regulated transcription units. This process is essential for transcription activation by nuclear receptors. TBL1Y likely acts as an integral part of corepressor complexes, mediating the recruitment of the 19S proteasome complex. This recruitment leads to the degradation of transcription repressor complexes via the proteasome, enabling cofactor exchange.

TBL1Y is also known as DFNY2, TBL1.
