TBC1D2

Description

The TBC1D2 (TBC1 domain family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

TBC1D2 acts as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for RAB7A. It functions as a signal effector, linking RAC1 to RAB7A. This interaction leads to inactivation of RAB7A, which in turn inhibits cadherin degradation and reduces cell-cell adhesion.

TBC1D2 is also known as PARIS-1, PARIS1, TBC1D2A.
