TAS2R30

Description

The TAS2R30 (taste 2 receptor member 30) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

Taste receptor type 2 member 30 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TAS2R30 gene. This gene is involved in the sense of taste, specifically the perception of bitterness. It is linked to gustducin, a protein involved in taste signal transduction. The TAS2R30 gene may also play a role in sensing the chemical composition of the gastrointestinal content.

This receptor is potentially involved in bitterness perception and is linked to gustducin. It may also contribute to sensing the chemical composition of the gastrointestinal tract. Activation of this receptor could trigger alpha gustducin stimulation, PLC-beta-2 activation, and ultimately, the opening of TRPM5 channels. (By similarity).

TAS2R30 is also known as T2R30, T2R47, TAS2R47.
