TAS2R20

Description

The TAS2R20 (taste 2 receptor member 20) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

Taste receptor type 2 member 20 is a protein encoded by the TAS2R20 gene in humans. It is a type of taste receptor.

This receptor is involved in the perception of bitterness and is linked to gustducin. It may also play a role in sensing the chemical composition of the gastrointestinal content. Its activation can stimulate alpha gustducin, leading to PLC-beta-2 activation and the gating of TRPM5.

TAS2R20 is also known as T2R20, T2R49, T2R56, TAS2R49.
